Everything on this site is background information to help you make your own decision. It is not legal advice, and it is not advice on accounting, tax or immigration strategy. No relationship of adviser and client is created by reading it or by writing to us.
We are not the government
ThaiPaperWork is a private site with no connection to any Thai government agency. Nothing here is an official announcement or an official interpretation. We do not process applications, submit documents on anyone’s behalf, or charge any fee.
Rules change, and pages go stale
Thai visa and work permit rules change often, sometimes at short notice. A page here can fall out of date before we notice. Every article carries the date it was last checked, and a revision history recording changes that affect the substance. Check the date before you rely on anything.
What is decided at an immigration counter or a labour office also depends on the officer, the office and your particular facts. A correct description of the rule is not a guarantee of the outcome.
Limitation of liability
We take care to get this right, and we correct errors when they are pointed out. Beyond that we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of anything published here. The decisions about your visa, your permission to stay, your work permit and your business are yours, and so are the consequences.
Translation
Thai law is written in Thai, and the Thai text is what governs. English renderings of provisions on this site are ours unless stated otherwise, and we print the Thai alongside so that they can be checked. Where a Thai legal term has no clean English equivalent, we say so rather than choosing a word that quietly narrows or widens the meaning.
Links to other sites
We link to government websites so that you can verify things at the source. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability.
Before you act
Confirm anything that affects your travel, your immigration status or your business with the relevant Thai authority, or with a lawyer, before you act on it. If you find an error here, tell us at webmaster@thaipaperwork.com and we will correct it and date the correction.
